Do You Need a Dumpster Permit in Peoria?

Most Peoria dumpster rentals need no permit at all. The rule of thumb: private property, no permit; public street, probably a permit. Here's the detail.

On your driveway or your land: usually no permit

If the dumpster sits entirely on private property (your driveway, your yard, a job site you control), the city generally doesn't get involved. Two things to check: your HOA (some restrict how long a container can sit, or require it be screened), and your driveway itself: we put boards under the container to protect the surface.

On the street: a right-of-way permit

When a container has to sit on a public street, alley or sidewalk, Peoria typically requires a temporary right-of-way (or “obstruction”) permit from the permits office. It usually covers a set number of days and may require reflective markers or cones.
